Dispute Resolution

Experienced commercial lawyers who are here to help you to focus on what you do best – running your business

Our dispute resolution team acts for a variety of clients from individuals to cross border corporations.

We aim to resolve disputes with efficiency and as painlessly as possible.

We take time to understand our clients’ businesses and the commercial forces that make them a success.  We seek to work with our clients long before any problems have arisen to eliminate or manage the risks affecting their business.

If disputes do arise, we will undertake an early assessment of the contentious issues involved so that our clients are fully aware of the likely outcomes. We seek to resolve disputes without a formal dispute resolution process wherever possible so that commercial relationships can be preserved, often advising clients behind the scenes in their negotiations.

It is, however, not always possible to achieve a resolution and, if necessary, we are able to rely on our wide experience in litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation and all other forms of alternative dispute resolution.

Injunctions and freezing orders

We also specialise in inunctions and freezing orders both in the UK and cross- border.

This enables us to protect our client’s position by preserving assets and restraining conduct which may be harmful to our clients.  We are well placed to take swift action in the UK or in collaboration with lawyers abroad to secure your rights and assets.

Injunctions are court orders to stop or compel an action, while freezing orders (or Mareva injunctions) are a specific, powerful type of interim injunction preventing a party from disposing of or dealing with their assets, protecting them for potential future judgment, especially in fraud, divorce, or commercial disputes where asset dissipation is a risk.

They stop a person from moving assets out of a jurisdiction or hiding them, applying to assets globally (Worldwide Freezing Orders) or within a country, and require strict evidence to prevent injustice.
